As a Rodin researcher, I find Catharine Lampert's book extremely useful as a reference. It is very insightful in providing three-dimensional characterization, particularly to Camille Claudel who played such an important part in influencing Rodin's style in the 's, serving both as a detailer (hands and feet) of his own works, a model and his lover while continuing to become a better and Cited by: 3.

There are about illustrations, consisting of photos of Rodin's sculptures, reproductions of some of his watercolours and drawings, photos of Rodin, his models and more. The book has some of those dreadful double spread photos but, Rodin Sculptures book, two things avoid those photos to spoil the book: a Double spreads are in a small number/5(9).

A good book for a basic understanding of Rodin's work. Its quite thin and doesn't contain too much information but that's what I was looking for. It has a selection of Rodin's work, mostly of his most famous pieces.

It reminded me of something you pick up from an art 4/4(12). The images of Rodin's life works are quite beautifully presented in this glorious look at both the life and work of a great sculptor, but it is the careful and precise scholarship presented in the text which makes this book an outstanding addition to any Rodin Sculptures book on art history/5(6).
